Monday through Friday you can find a buzz of activity in the kitchens where teams of dedicated volunteers get meals ready for the many seniors who come into the Centers for nutritious, hot, lunchtime meals. Additionally, close to 150 Arlington seniors receive their meals delivered to their homes from more enthusiastic and devoted Meals on Wheels volunteer drivers. The lunchtime gatherings provide not only a healthy, well-balanced diet, but also places to get together and socialize with other seniors.
Meals on Wheels helps homebound seniors who might not be able to prepare their own meal, as well as provide a daily safety check and socialization. A smile and friendly conversation from the drivers is as important as the food they bring.
Minuteman is grateful for volunteers like Debbie A. Beaucaire and Roslyn D. Arpiarian from Metropolitan Home Health Services, Inc. who make all of this possible.
